Member of the Brussels Bar since 1969, Georges-Albert Dal holds a Doctorate in Law from the Free University of Brussels and a licence spéciale in economic law.
Georges-Albert Dal is Professor emeritus of the Catholic University of Louvain and editor in chief of the Journal des Tribunaux. He has held a number of positions in the course of his career. He is a former President of the Order of French-speaking section of the Brussels Bar, former President of the Council of European Bars (CCBE) and former President of the Federation of European Bars.
He is the joint author together with Guy Keutgen of the Belgian reference book on arbitration, Part II of this book on international arbitration has just been published recently. Georges-Albert Dal has written many contributions on commercial, banking and financial law and arbitration.
As senior partner at DALDEWOLF, Georges-Albert Dal has in-depth experience in business and insolvency law. He has built up his practice around arbitration and is part of our Arbitration and Mediation team. Georges-Albert Dal acts regularly as arbitrator for the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC in Paris and CEPANI in Brussels.

Georges-Albert Dal has, together with Mr. Fabian Tchékémian, published an article devoted to the Arbitration Act of the OHADA in the « Revue internationale de droit des affaires » (DAOR, n° 2014/2, n° 110, p. 161 e.v.).
Georges-Albert Dal wrote the foreword of the book "L'éthique de l'avocat - Outil de marketing ou d'engagement" which will be released soon (Anthémis and Ed. du Jeune barreau de Liège, Limal - Luik, 2014). This introduction was dedicated to the theme "Ethique et discipline : l'application de la règle déontologique à l'aune de l'éthique professionnelle".
The Belgian Financial Intelligence Unit published "Le livre blanc de l’argent noir" on the occassion of its 20th anniversary. This work contains several personal contributions, including an article of Georges-Albert Dal entitled "Les avocats, les soupçons et le secret professionnel" (p. 153 et seq.).
The Liber amicorum François Glansdorff and Pierre Legros, which was presented to the interested parties during an organized homage at the University Foundation on the 22 November 2013 , contains a contribution of Georges-Albert Dal . He discusses the general injunction right of the bâtonnier (p. 549).
